KK2.0 from Hobbyking is a very popular and cheap Flight controller board. All RC multicopter newbies start with KK boards.
KK stands for Kaptain Kuk (Pun for Captain Cook) the board was designed by Rolf Blakke.
Some people have managed to make custom firmware for this board. see below list.
Various Options for the KK2.0 board firmwares.
- NextCopterplus is a group who have made two variants for this board, one for Planes called "openaero" and other for Multicopters called "NextCopterPlus". You can get the source code from Here.
- Marc from rchacker.com has successfully modded the Arduino IDE to get it to recognize the kk2.0 board. Click here to check out his page, he's get quite detailed videos explaining the sample code.
- Mohammad Hefny has also developed his own variant of the KK2.0 firmware called Hefnycopter, the think I like about his approach is the ability to add things like altitude sensors to the unused pins. you can get his code here.
- KK2-Multicopter is yet another variant, I like their documentation, you can find the below schematic and datasheets of all the components on their source here.

Hoped you got enough information about the kk2.0 board.
